Please join us for our 2nd Annual
Diwali Family Night

All are welcome!

What is Diwali?

Diwali, often referred to as the Festival of Lights is an important religious festival celebrated by more than a billion people. It is India’s biggest holiday of the year.

Diwali, or Dipawali, gets its name from the row (avali) of clay lamps (deepa) that Indians light outside their homes to symbolize the inner light that protects from spiritual darkness.

Diwali is a five-day festival that celebrates the triumph of good over evil, light over darkness, and knowledge over ignorance.

About Family Night

Last year South Fayette Township Library started celebrating Diwali Family Night. This one-hour program invites our community to join us for crafts, snacks, music and more! Led by South Fayette Township Library and volunteers we hope this serves as an opportunity to connect with our friends and neighbors, sharing favorite memories and traditions.

Celebrate Diwali Family Night with us on October 23, 2024 from 6:00 PM – 7:00 PM. Register using the event calendar.

Let’s make this Diwali joyous and bright…

Let’s celebrate in true sense this festival of light…
