TEENS & TWEENS Summer Learning!

Having fun at the library isn’t just for young kids. We have a lot going on for our middle school and high school patrons as well! If you’re entering grades 6-12 in the fall, you are eligible to take part in all our Teen Summer Learning activities.

This summer we are giving teens special Boarding Pass to Adventure tickets that give you a chance to win one of our great prizes!

Each ticket has a scratch-off side for a chance to win one of our instant prizes. If you don’t win an instant prize, you can fill out the ticket and enter for a chance to win one of our grand raffle prizes. Be sure to stop by the library and take a look at what amazing prizes you could win!

Great question! There are several ways to earn tickets.

1. Earn raffle tickets from June 10th – August 10th by attending any Middle Grade or Teen Program led by our Teen Services Specialist, Ms. Alicia.

2. Earn Raffle tickets by completing a Teen Mission. Each Mission runs for one week (Monday- Saturday) from June 10th – August 3rd .  Come pick up a teen summer brochure to see what each week’s mission will be. You cannot go back and complete previous missions and you may only complete each week’s mission 1 time.

3. If you check out a Teen Unseen Bag this summer, you will find a review sheet inside. Fill it out and return it to the library between June 10th and August 10th and you’ll earn a raffle ticket!

Of course, no summer at the library is complete without a little reading (or a lot!).  We have 2 options for summer reading logs for our teens. The first is a bookmark with spots to put 8 books that you read this summer.  For our more avid readers who plan to finish a lot more books that that we have a Make Space for Reading log where you can color in the stars to keep track of either how many books you have read or how many minutes you have read. Return either one of these reading logs the Week of July 29th as your final mission of summer for a raffle ticket.

We look forward to seeing you at the library!
