Teen Volunteer Spotlight: Pranai

The Teen Volunteer Program at Bridgeville Public Library and South Fayette Township Library offers a wide variety of opportunities for teens to highlight their unique talents in a way that helps the entire community.

Bridgeville Public Library’s Circulation Supervisor, Bree Balsamo-Carilli got the chance to sit down with Pranai, one of our teen volunteers and ask him about his experience in the teen volunteer program.

How many years have you been involved in the teen volunteer program?

I have been volunteering for about a year now.

How did you hear about it?

I heard about my friends first doing it, and I missed the sign up, but I kept hearing from them how fun it was. I wanted to do it so I made sure to apply for the next sign up.

What do you like about the program?

I get to show off my creativity and show off [graphic] designs that are unique to me.

What opportunity is your favorite and why?

Anything graphic design because I get the chance to be creative.

What do you think is unique about our teen volunteer program?

I like how it is based off teens but they are helping a wide variety of people in the community. For example, the slideshows I designed [for the libraries’ television] are going to be advertised to and for everyone.

Would you recommend others join and why?

Definitely! It is a great way to get volunteer hours, as well as to have fun doing things you enjoy.
