As we get ready for an exciting renovation and transformation of our library space, we have temporarily relocated to the South Fayette Township Municipal Center. This move allows us to continue offering the services, programs, and resources you rely on while we work toward a refreshed, more flexible library for our community.
We’re looking forward to welcoming you in our temporary home and can’t wait to share updates as the new space takes shape. Stay tuned for more details about the move, hours, and what to expect—we’re bringing the library with us every step of the way!

Location & Directions
The library are temporarily located at the South Fayette Township Municipal Center, 100 Township Drive, South Fayette PA 15017. The site is located diagonally up the hill from The Watson Institute (former El Rancho drive-in) along Hickory Grade Road.
Directions from the former library building (515 Millers Run Road) to the new municipal center (100 Township Drive):
- Left on Millers Run Rd
- Left on Route 50
- Right on Hickory Grade Rd
- Left on Township Drive
Hours of Operation
The library will continue to offer our current hours:
- Monday-Thursday: 10:00am-7:00pm
- Friday-Saturday: 10:00am-5:00pm
- Sunday: Closed
Please note: South Fayette Township Municipal Center Hours are Monday – Friday: 8:00am – 4:00pm.
FAQ
Services
- Will I be able to pick up my holds?
Current library holds will be available as usual until Friday, May 22.
From Friday, May 15 to Wednesday, June 3, South Fayette Township Library will be temporarily unavailable as a pickup location for new hold requests. The hold pickup location for existing hold items can be changed to a neighboring library location, if preferred.
Hold pickup will resume on Monday, June 8 at the South Fayette Township Municipal Center.
- Will I be able to return my books?
Yes! The library will offer our outdoor book return, which will be relocated to the South Fayette Township Municipal Center during the closure. As always, items can also be returned to any library in Allegheny County.
- Will the library still offer programs?
Absolutely! We’re excited for children, teens, and adults to join us this summer for Unearth a Story! Registration for summer programs begins Tuesday, May 26. To learn more, view our summer programming guide or visit our Event Calendar.
Unless otherwise noted, all programs will take place at the South Fayette Township Municipal Center.
- When is the renovated library expected to open?
We’re excited to share that the transformed library is expected to open in mid-2027 – bringing a vibrant, expanded space designed for connection, discovery, and lifelong learning. Stay tuned as we get closer to opening day!
- Is the library accepting book donations?
No, not at this time. While the library is located at the temporary location, we are unable to accept book donations.
